The Zetra Sports Hall hosted the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Winter Olympic Games, and then served as a venue for various sporting events thereafter. On May 20, 1992, this landmark's copper roof melted and was consumed by flames after being hit by numerous incendiary shells.
Despite the fire, the Zetra continued to function as a shelter and base for UN forces throughout the siege, and was rebuilt after the war. On March 30, 1999, Sarajevo celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of the Olympic games here.
